  • The Common Good & Catholic Social Teaching

Our commitment to the Common Good is rooted in our mission: Excellence Together, with Christ at the Centre. Guided by the principles of Catholic Social Teaching and supported by the Caritas Westminster resources, we teach our children that faith is not only something we believe — it is something we live.

Catholic Social Teaching calls us to recognise the dignity of every person, to care for creation and to work for justice and peace. At our school, this means putting faith into action in meaningful and practical ways.

We encourage our pupils to take responsibility for one another and for the world around them. This is seen in the everyday choices they make — serving as Playground Buddies to support younger children, taking part in litter picking to care for our environment, and showing kindness and inclusion in their relationships.

Our children also look beyond the school gates. Through fundraising initiatives, food bank donations and partnerships with local charities and organisations, they learn that even small actions can make a big difference. They come to understand that we are called not simply to receive, but to give; not simply to learn about justice, but to practise it.

By embedding Catholic Social Teaching throughout school life, we nurture pupils who are thoughtful, compassionate and courageous — young people who understand that working for the Common Good is part of their Christian vocation and their responsibility as global citizens.
