Gardening Club
We have been very busy this year during our gardening club sessions. We have added new gardening beds to our KS1 playground to ensure that every child in school has an opportunity to explore what 'gardening' involves; look after the plants and ensure we have nutritious food for our cooking club and other cooking activities taking place in school.
Our beds are bursting with vibrant colours! We decided to do some watercolour paintings of some of our crops coming up.
Have a look at these photos! Our potatoes are coming along quite nicely. We also have some chard ready to harvest and peas too!
Last week some children had a close look at the peas that are growing in the vegetables bed. They transplanted them to bigger pots and put up bamboo structures to help the shoots grow better.
Our potatoes have chitted quite nicely, time to get them planted!
We worked hard as a team today digging and making trenches together!
How do you like to eat your potatoes?
